Blue Reflection Wiki

Miyauchi Rena is one of the main characters of Blue Reflection Tie.

About[]

A girl who lives at school with Utsubo Kokoro and Kinjou Yuki. She has lost her memory as with the other girls at Oasis.

Profile[]

Appearance[]

Rena has light, auburn hair worn loose, and brown eyes. Slender and tall, she wears an olive blazer, a mustard yellow plaid skirt, striped socks and brown penny loafers. She generally refuses to take off her jacket, even on a sunny day.

In her Reflector form, Rena wears a combination plaid and satin dress, colored yellow and blue. It features a bones motif and glowing cutaways. The sleeves are puffy, as is the bustle. Her look could best be described as "elegant punk."

Rena wields a purple, blue & black hula hoop, which she can either throw at opponents or use in close-quarters combat.

Personality[]

Rena is a quick study and can grow impatient when those around her need a little more time to catch up. She upsets easily, and a disagreement can cause her to become almost shrill with frustration.

Under her testy exterior, Rena is actually an insecure and tender girl who will move Heaven and Earth to rescue those who manage to win her affections.

Along with Kokoro, she is one of the original students living in the Oasis High School when Hoshizaki Ao arrived. Rena and Ao develop a kind of teacher-student relationship. She apparently doesn't know what she did before coming to this world, but we eventually learn from her Heartscape exploration that she tried to save Yuki from dying of Ash Syndrome through her research at an organization known as the AASA. She tells Ao and the others that the Ash saps the life energy out of the human body. Rena had been romantically involved with Yuki, who developed this incurable disease. This leaves Rena devastated, and she promises her that they will overcome this together and see the stars one day.

Out of despair and hopelessness, Yuki doesn't inform Rena when she is transferred to a specialist facility more suitable to her needs. Yuki thought she was cured when she magically arrived in Oasis, free of symptoms, but in Yuki's Heartscape, we learn that Rena was not able to save her and that she passed away in the real world.

Yuki and Rena come to terms with their past and future, and say their farewells after the final battle in the Heart of the World System.

Etymology[]

  • Miyauchi means "temple, shrine, palace" (宮) (miya) and "inside, within" (内) (uchi).
  • Rena means "actor" (伶) (re) and "what?" (那) (na).

Trivia[]

  • Rena is a closet Otaku and wants to publish her own manga one day.
  • Rena's attack names are in French and are ocean-themed, reflecting how she grew up by the sea.
