Overview

Saiki Yuri is a supporting character in Blue Reflection and Blue Reflection Ray. She is a first year student from class 1-A of Hoshinomiya Girls' High School with a preternaturally high IQ.

Profile[]

On the surface, Yuri appears to be just a brilliant student, but in fact, she boasts an extremely high IQ and has been published in scientific journals. She is indifferent to everything but what interests her, and often forgets to eat or sleep when she is immersed in her research.

While she has a brilliant mind, she is not very good at expressing her feelings and empathizing with others. Because of this, she is unable to make friends, but she has given up on that.

Yuri later appears in Blue Reflection Ray, working for the AASA. At this point, she is now a student at Tsukinomiya Girls' High School (presumably as part of her cover).

Personality[]

While remarkably intelligent, Yuri does not experience emotions as strongly as some of her peers, leading her to often question herself. She is reserved and slow to make friends, but cherishes the ones she has.

Yuri is one of the few girls with both the savviness to acquire restricted weapons, and the lack of common sense to bring them into Hoshinomiya. In the end, however, she is one of the few girls who is fully prepared to assist the Reflector's in their fight against the Sephirot.

Appearance[]

Yuri has long, dark hair with straight bangs, and wears the black, long-sleeved winter variation of the Hoshinomiya Girls' School Uniform, with black tights and brown leather shoes.

Gameplay[]

Support Skill

Deadly Kugel - Yuri attacks the Sephirot with an assault rifle. It is second only to Ninagawa Mao's support ability in terms of damage dealt.

Blue Reflection

Yuri's research into the Hoshinomiya and Tsukinomiya phenomenon's offers invaluable insight to her employer. Yet, she struggles with simple day-to-day tasks. Having never been to a convenience store, she would rather employ elaborate schemes to sustain herself and her long hours of research, than to talk to someone face to face.

Yuri discovers many truths about Hoshinomiya, which she shares with her new friend Shirai Hinako. This includes an important revelation about the wish that Shijō Yuzuki and Shijō Raimu promised to grant her.

Blue Reflection Ray

In her Ray story arc, Yuri is instrumental in recruiting several Reflectors for the AASA, paving the way for events to unfold in Blue Reflection Tie.

Etymology[]

  • Saiki means "purification/religious purification, Buddhist food, room, worship, avoid, alike" (斎) (sai) and "tree, wood" (木) (ki).
  • Yuri means "exist" (有) (yu) and "reason, logic" (理) (ri).

Trivia[]

  • Yuri cares little for fashion or personal appearance, preferring functionality above all else. This often puts her at odds with the other girls in humorous ways.
  • Yuri's IQ is said by Sarasa to be 300.
  • Yuri is the only character to canonically attend two different schools from the Blue Reflection series, along with wearing both of their school uniforms. (Hoshinomiya Girls' High School and Tsukinomiya Girls' High School)
